Our history
Steve Holmes was a freelance journalist when the Lawson-Thatcher recession hit the UK in 1989. Equipped with just a 286 computer, known affectionately as Mad Max One, he diversified and worked hard to build a new business, trying to define a whole new concept of quality in a marketplace where people normally had really long and boring CVs typed by secretarial agencies and laser printing was the biggest innovation!
Things went well, but being naive about the Internet, Steve's first website was no more than a brochure and a terrible one at that, completely failing to reflect the complexity and subtlety of the product.
Then one day in 1997 an email came from a young web designer, telling Steve how bad his website was. The rest is history. What you see now represents four years of continuous evolution reflecting 12 years of intellectual development in the art of CV writing. This business is now entirely Internet based and must be one of the most successful small dot.coms in existence.
